As Managing Director, Thomas Obitz assumes the management of the subsidiary within the Atlantic Zeiser Group while Gary Harris takes on the management on site as General Manager
Atlantic Zeiser, a global provider of sophisticated personalization, serialization, individualization and track & trace systems, is restructuring the management of its British subsidiary in the middle of the year, since Managing Director Bob Lewin is retiring after 15 years at Atlantic Zeiser (UK) Ltd. He will be succeeded by Thomas Obitz, who as Managing Director will be assuming the management of the subsidiary within the Atlantic Zeiser Group, and Gary Harris, who as General Manager will take on the management on site.
Bob Lewin started his career as an apprentice printer’s engineer and developed, among other things, into a specialist for inkjet processes, one of the core competencies of Atlantic Zeiser. “We were a very good match from the beginning, and so I became part of a success story in a responsible position and with great pleasure. Our business developed very dynamically in an exciting market segment. Today, around 80 % of our turnover is achieved in exports.“ Aside from special applications and short runs of mechanical numbering devices primarily for banknotes, Atlantic Zeiser now offers digital products for the reliable and secure production of passports, documents and gift cards as well as solutions for the authentication of pharmaceutical products and high-grade cosmetics.
In 2013, the company headquartered in Andover, Hampshire, celebrated its 100th anniversary of operation, “a significant milestone in an industry in which one always has to react very quickly to changes in the market and in which technology-driving players like ourselves play a decisive role. I thank all my colleagues and companions that I was able to have such an exciting time working at this company,” Bob Lewin said.
Atlantic Zeiser Managing Director (CFO) Thomas Obitz, who will manage the British subsidiary in a dual role, thanked his departing colleague for an “extraordinary commitment that made the steady growth of our British subsidiary possible. Bob Lewin stands for very successful years.“
Gary Harris, who will succeed Bob Lewin as General Manager in Andover, looks forward to “continuing to expand the future development on a solid foundation. We are taking over a well-maintained house, and that is why we will be able to exploit the resulting potential optimally, many thanks to Bob Lewin.“ As a trainee, Gary Harris started at Lethaby Numbering Systems in 1988 and last held the positions of a Key Account Manager and acting General Manager. He, too, is a proven expert in the industry.
As Business Development Manager of Digital Systems, Jim Kaye will continue to be the contact person for all customers and users, and Kevin Malsbury as Production Manager will continue to handle all production-related matters.
