Emmingen, Germany, 19th March 2010 Atlantic Zeiser Group, a leading innovator and technology supplier for digital narrow format printing processes, today announced it will be demonstrating its full family of OMEGA printers at IPEX, in Hall 6, Stand C557. These high quality single-pass printers are uniquely suited to a wide range of applications in the packaging, labeling, industrial product marking, commercial printing and card markets.
“New to the OMEGA family is the capability of using inkjet DoD technology to print with white ink,” said Ralf Hipp, Vice President of Digital Systems. “This unique technology, developed in-house by Atlantic Zeiser, has been very successful in the flat financial card market for brands such as VISA and MasterCard. White ink is also commonly used for printing on dark backgrounds in the industrial printing and packaging where high quality, high-speed production is required. We are excited to be bringing this important capability to the attention of IPEX visitors and to work with our customers to develop new and exciting applications.” With the introduction of white ink, and the global availability of the full family of OMEGA printers, Atlantic Zeiser is now the leading supplier of digital UV narrow web solutions covering the broadest array of applications for commercial printers, card printers, labeling and packaging converters. In addition, its ‘one-stop-shop’ systems integration services enable customers to implement custom solutions that include these high-quality printers that can produce excellent results even on challenging substrates.
Product Details
OMEGA Printing Systems are Atlantic Zeiser’s premium printing modules, ensuring accurate reproduction of bar codes and font sizes down to 4 points as well as optimum legibility of bar codes, graphics and textual information. The high print quality of 360 or 720 dpi at print widths of 36 mm to 210 mm (1.4 inches to 8.3 inches) facilitates personalization of pre-printed offset media, even on dark backgrounds, with a quality that makes it difficult to distinguish overprinting from the original offset printing. Based on drop-on-demand array technology, this printer enables single-pass variable data inkjet printing on a wide variety of substrates, ranging from paper and carton to aluminium or metal, polymer foils, plastics and glass, and is easily integrated into most existing equipment. Its Piezo printheads are designed for use with specially formulated UV-cured or solvent-based inks. The combination of the next generation’s LED UV curing and Atlantic Zeiser’s high contrast inks enable all OMEGA printers to deliver crisp print quality with no visible stitching lines – the ideal basis for late-stage product customization and personalization making it practical, as well as profitable, to generate short runs for subsequent individualization.
