Atlantic Zeiser launches CARDLINE VERSA Color

New all-in-one four-color card personalization solution provides full range of production functions in one system

Atlantic Zeiser, a global solutions provider of dedicated personalization and coding systems, has released the new CARDLINE VERSA Color system. The CARDLINE VERSA Color features four-color drop-on-demand (DoD) printing and UV coating capabilities and is based on the field-proven CARDLINE VERSA. With this new system, personalization bureaus can now manage the entire production process, expand their business offerings and address new markets.

The new CARDLINE VERSA Color will make its world premiere at open house events in Europe at Atlantic Zeiser’s headquarters in Emmingen, Germany, and in the U.S. in West Caldwell, New Jersey. Both open house events will take place from October 7-11. It will be demonstrated again in the U.S. at an open house from October 23-25.

“Our new CARDLINE VERSA Color system lets personalization bureaus add more attention-getting creative elements to their cards, such as brand colors, spot coatings, and other effects, enabling brand owners to stand out from the competition,” said Friedbert Beyer, Director of Market & Product Management for Card Systems, Atlantic Zeiser. “They can own the process from beginning to end, starting with blank plastic cards to produce short runs of high quality, low-cost, four-color printed and personalized cards. It’s a full-scale card production factory in a fraction of the traditional footprint.”

CARDLINE VERSA Color was built to meet the needs of the upscale gift and loyalty card markets, with a 4-color DoD printing system that delivers consistent 950-dpi resolution, job after job. Its UV coating module can provide full edge-to-edge or spot coating, or special 3D-type effects. A high-speed transport system ensures that cards flow smoothly through the system for maximum quality and productivity. And because Atlantic Zeiser DoD printing technology uses lower-cost consumables than conventional legacy systems – and an all-digital workflow is more productive over many short runs – the system can produce cards at the lowest cost.

CARDLINE VERSA Color offers a high degree of flexibility, and is available with unique customer-specific configurations for all personalization technologies, transport modules, magnetic encoding, inkjet systems, UV coating, cameras, and labelers. Its dual-use capability does the work of multiple machines for faster return on investment. For example, in cases where long runs are needed, a personalization bureau can switch off the four-color and UV coating modules, and process conventional artwork pre-printed cards quickly and cost-effectively. The system handles standard products and functions for almost all card formats, including odd-shaped cards, hang tags, and double CR80 cards.

Encoding, printing and other special requirements for the CARDLINE VERSA Color system are managed by a centralized, easy-to-operate Host PC. All variable data RIP-ing is done inline in real time for a fully synchronized throughput with no interruption. It also allows quick set-up and adjustment for efficient job changeovers or multiple short runs.

With the centralized PMP processor, orders can be automatically received from customers, scheduled and configured in a way that optimizes production flow. The system runs up to 30% faster than competitive machines – enhancing productivity and expanding revenue potential. In mixed environments, the PMP can control an entire card production factory, including Atlantic Zeiser systems and older legacy machines.

The system is available for delivery immediately.
