NEW from Atlantic Zeiser at Interpack 2014: Blister foil printing – flexible and simple.

  • Nearline version of innovative DIGILINE Blister inkjet printing system now available.
  • Significant benefits compared with formerly predominant flexo printing, especially with small batch sizes.
  • Reduces setup times and operating costs while delivering superior print quality with small fonts in particular.

The superior quality printing of blister foil with variable data is now being made more flexible and affordable, especially with small batches. Responsible for the innovation is Atlantic Zeiser, which is premiering the nearline version of its DIGILINE Blister printing system at the Interpack fair (hall 16, booth A47). Unlike the flexo printing method that has dominated the blister segment thus far, the new system relies entirely on high-quality, low-maintenance digital inkjet technology. Valuable setup time is reduced when changing jobs because essential operations associated with flexo printing are no longer required. Users can therefore significantly lower their material costs as well, including for consumables such as flexible printing mats and UV dryer bulbs.

True to original and beneficial

Users no longer need to accept compromises as regards print quality. DIGILINE Blister is capable of faithfully reproducing even Asian fonts thanks to a native PDF resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and an original PDF RIP process. Furthermore, the quantity of ink applied can be adapted to suit the requirements of the foil. The service life of the UV LED technology used for drying the ink is around ten times longer than that of the UV-C lamps utilized in flexography.

End-to-end solution for serialization

As an all-in-one system, DIGILINE Blister offers additional benefits: users need neither separate software nor an external PC for uploading images or codes to the system. The omission of critical interfaces simplifies both integration and operation. DIGILINE Blister is fully compatible with MEDTRACKER, Atlantic Zeiser’s innovative track & trace software for generating, managing and printing the necessary codes for all international regulations. In combination with DIGILINE Blister, the company thus offers a future-proof end-to-end solution for reliable blister foil printing and drug serialization.
