Substrate & Ink

What is the substrate to print on? The properties of the substrate define the system components and the way they work together.

The substrate may be strongly absorbent, or not at all; it can be very thin and flexible, or very rigid; it may be sensitive to mechanical or thermal stress. Drop-on demand inkjet systems can print on individual items with smooth or textured surfaces, sheets, cartons, and plastic cards.

Pre-treatment

Pre-treatment

Can the substrate be printed as it is? How does the ink spread on the substrate? Is any pre-treatment required to improve the print quality and the adhesion?

Atlantic Zeiser offers various pre-treatment units fitting with the specific application requirements based on linear printing speed, substrate and ink behavior.

What constraints should be considered when generating the color profile? Which spot colors need to be simulated? What is the best fitting resolution? What print width is required? What speed?

We have the right printers for the most diverse range of applications, no matter wether full color or monochrome printing is required. Our drop-on-demand printers are able to RIP variable data using various data formats on the fly. We also offer the inks perfectly fitting with the specific application needs.

Curing Unit

Curing Unit

Following the printing process, the ink must be cured. The curing process is selected based on the substrate, the type of ink and the performance requirements.

Our inks are cured by means of infrared, conventional UV or LED based UVA radiation. This task can only be solved by an integrated system: the 'cold' UV fixation process, for example, requires the use of a certain type of ink.

Product Transport

Like all the other system components, the transport needs to be adapted to the specific requirements of the application. Where one application may call for extreme precision, the next may require maximum speed.

Inkjet systems can be supplied as an integrated unit with their own transport and handling equipment, or they may be added to existing process chains. In both instances, our transport systems are both flexible and scalable. They can be adjusted to be as precise or as productive as required by the application at hand.

Print Verification

Print Verification

Regarding individualization and personalization applications, data integrity is of the utmost importance. Camera-based print verification ensures consistent quality thoughout the entire production run.

Our VERICAM Pro print verification camera technology guarantees full data integrity while eliminating excessive setup efforts. Based on a powerful contour- matching technique and a smart binarization process, it can generically extract imprinted texts and match them intelligently.

System Control

Superior print quality is the result of systems integration. And perfect integration depens on intelligent system control. Connecting the best single devices only becomes a top solution through excellent control.

A system controller running process control software is the central component of every printing solution. Our in-house developed software solution allows quick setup of complex systems and features an application-centric setup. Product setups can be easily shared among multiple machines providing flexibility managing the workload of all machines.
